Foundation Report

By Lecina Hicke, CEO

We’re especially grateful to the hard-working staff and physicians at St. Paul’s Hospital who have been dedicated to providing compassionate care in the fight against this pandemic.

Quilters’ creations help bring dignity to
end-of-life care at the Hospice at Glengarda

St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation board members Arlene Jorgenson and Shari Watson said the first time they heard of a dignity quilt was when the Hospice at Glengarda requested their quilting groups make two for the new hospice. The dignity quilts are used to lay over those who have passed on, so that they’re draped in a beautiful piece of artwork as they leave the Hospice. “It’s a very special quilt,” Jorgenson said. “It’s very beautiful; it looks like stained glass. How Kaylee Eden honoured a friend
with a fundraiser for the Hospice at Glengarda

Kaylee Eden spent eight years growing out her hair to donate to those affected by diseases that cause hair loss. And then what started as a general act of kindness became much more personal for Kaylee when she lost a loved one to cancer. supports SPH Foundatio

Each year, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) holds an annual Run for Charity event. This year, they decided to bring this event to Saskatoon for the first time. Mistletoe 2020 baskets a huge success

When the COVID-19 pandemic first hit in March, the Mistletoe Ball committee was already well underway planning the 2020 event. Mistletoe Ball is a signature fundraiser for St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, and more than that, it’s an annual tradition for many people in the Foundation family, marking the start of the Christmas season. It was hard to imagine the season without it, and cancelling fundraising wasn’t an option — the need never goes away, and especially so at a hospital during a pandemic.
